Kano State Govt Arrests 30 Herbal Medicine Hawkers For Allegedly Using Vulgar Words For Advert

30 herbal medicine hawkers have been arrested in Kano for allegedly using vulgar words while advertising their products across the state, IgbereTV reports.

The Executive Secretary of the Private Health Institutions Management Agency (PHIMA) under the Kano State Ministry of Health, Usman Tijjani Aliyu, who confirmed the arrest on Monday, November 9, said that sanitisation exercise is ongoing to arrest these practitioners who go about on the major streets and market places using loudspeakers and vulgar words to advertise their products to their respective customers.

Aliyu disclosed that the task force also impounded 30 cars and 10 wheelbarrows used by the hawkers.

“The task force established by the Kano State Ministry of Health and my agency (Private Health Institutions Management Agency) was given the mandate to carry out the exercise.” he said.

“During the first exercise, we arrested 13 and now we arrested another 17 of them. The exercise continues. They were apprehended around Gyadi-gyadi/Court road, ‘Yan kaba bus stop, Janguza market, Kofar ruwa, Katsina road, ‘Yan kura and Bata. The task force is on a rampage to liberate the people of Kano State from the menace of rampant hawking of traditional medicines using vulgar words.”

He added that the task force has a backup of security operatives which comprise the police, NSCDC, Hisbah, among others.

“The agency would like to express its appreciation and gratitude to the good people of Kano for their support and information they have been providing continuously to the task force,” Aliyu stated

It is no longer News how the Deadly Disease had been ravaging our cities, Nigeria and the entire World. It has been overwhelming to Countries and Governments right now. The spread of the Pandemic Corona Virus and of course death toll had also been on the increase.

To ameliorate this situation, the Federal Government initiated 2 weeks Shutdown to Economic activities of non essential Companies and general movements.

This hasn’t been funny in the Economic and spending pockets of average Nigerians. This had now led to house to house robberies in some areas of Lagos state and Ogun state.

The situation had been so difficult to manage. For the past one week now, the untold hardships had been so much that people have been unable to feed. The Criminals had taken advantage of the situation to survive by robbing house to house. People now sleep with their eyes opened in fear.

My area, Olambe, Ogun State, where I live has been threatened by the activities of robbers. Last night, we had to keep watch from 2am to 6:30am this morning.

Coming out last night for the first time for me to keep watch, I discovered the situation had gotten out of hand for the past one week, that all the Landlords and people in the area had to come out to keep watch against robbers. And it has been like this for a week now.

Some part of the area called Police and Security Agencies all to no avail.

It is a shame at this level we can’t still curtail and manage security situations of Nigerians.

Listening to News this morning a Police said most of the calls they received last night were false alarm calls. He defended by saying these and that people were just putting up lies to threaten security situations. It really absurd for the Nigeria Police to have such backward and complacent attitudes to doing their Jobs.
